Jenifer Elaine Kechulius is a music educator who designs joyful, thoughtful group music experiences for young children and their families. Based in Zürich, Switzerland, she brings a deep understanding of child development, musicianship, and creative learning to every class she leads.

While Jenie maintains a full private studio working with children ages 4–12, her group offerings are created specifically for families seeking meaningful musical experiences beyond one-on-one lessons. She offers family music classes with a focus on children ages 3–6, beginner group flute classes, and original music craft kits that combine hands-on creativity with foundational music concepts. These classes emphasize active participation, movement, listening, and play—supporting children as they build confidence, coordination, and musical understanding in a social setting.

Jenie’s approach to group music education is shaped by years of experience and specialized training. While serving as Acting Program Director at the Champaign School of Music in Illinois, she trained as a Music Together® teacher, and later taught the program for five years at Music Together Zürich. This work strongly influences her belief that young children learn music best through shared experiences, exploration, and joyful repetition—within a supportive community of peers and caregivers.

She holds a Bachelor of Music in Saxophone Performance from Purdue University Fort Wayne and a Master of Music in Saxophone Performance from the University of South Carolina. Her earlier career included university teaching, arts administration, and professional performance with orchestras such as the Spartanburg Symphony Orchestra, Florence Symphony Orchestra, and Augusta Symphony Orchestra. These experiences continue to inform her teaching through strong musicianship, thoughtful structure, and high artistic standards—adapted carefully for young learners.

Today, Jenie’s group classes offer families a welcoming space where children can explore music with curiosity and confidence. Whether singing together, learning a first instrument alongside peers, or creating music-inspired crafts, her goal is to help children experience music as a natural, expressive, and joyful part of everyday life.
